BUILDING HISTORY
Town founding father Alvin Blanchard built and operated the Hotel Blanchard. At its fullness the hotel spanned three buildings, each building stood three stories high, housing 19 rooms, that 5 house maids (one of which was Alvins wife) staffed to clean. In later years Alvin sold the middle building to the Chandler family, than the north building to the McKellar family, the last of the buildings Alvin owned until 1946 when he sold it to the Dobson family.
Years passing with a few change of hands, some renovations and updates, the last building of the Hotel Blanchard still operates with two guest rooms by new owners Rachel and Ray Plum.
